We explain modern home automation trends in Sydney

Safe n Sound Electrical is a qualified and licensed home automation electrician in Sydney that can help you choose the right mix of products to create the levels of automation in your home or business that you are after. With the cost of purchasing property so high, many people are renovating their existing home in Sydney to make it more comfortable to live in day in, day out.

One of the ways of achieving this is to introduce home automation into the functionality of your home, here are some of the recent trends;

1. Home automation in the bathroom

Installing a smart device in your bathroom allows you to sing along to your favourite song while in the shower. You can even control your playlist on your watch and skip songs while washing your hair.

2. Smart locks and smart home security

Feeling safe in your own home is priceless. With smart locks that can only be opened with a high-tech Pincode or thumbprint, outdoor sensor lighting or motion detector surveillance cameras, Sydney homeowners are sleeping better at night.

3. Smart blinds

More and more Sydneysiders are prioritising quality sleep in 2021. Smart blackout blinds can be programmed to roll down at your preferred bedtime and roll up at the same time your morning alarm buzzes. Imagine enjoying 8 hours of restful sleep and waking up to the bright Sydney sunshine ready for a busy day ahead.

4. Featured smart bathroom lighting

2021 was the year of the oval bathroom mirror. And with home automation lighting as a frame, it’s not surprising this statement bathroom feature popped up all the time in your Instagram feed.

5. Sensor bathroom lighting

Who hates fumbling around for the bathroom light in the middle of the night when you’re half asleep? In 2021 many Sydney households saw an increase in the desire for convenience with motion detector bathroom lighting.

6. Stylish home automation devices

For Sydney households wanting to join the smart tech movement, there are many stylish and modern designs to choose from, including circular or cylindrical devices that sit on a shelf to sleek wall mounted devices that blend into the background. And the possibilities of these home automation brands and new beautifully designed products just keep expanding.  Home Automation Trends

Darren Dewerson - licensed electrician in Sydney

I started in the industry installing security alarms and CCTV camera systems 25 years ago in London. I worked on thousands of sites servicing alarm electrical systems for large building companies, schools & other locations.

When I arrived in Australia I wasn’t allowed to apply for a security licence as I was not a citizen at the time so I decided get my TAFE qualifications and retrain as an electrician which complimented my electrical assistant work in London. I have been working as an electrician in Sydney since 2005.

For just over 40 years I have been involved in all types of electrical installations, upgrades, emergency repairs and set ups.
