You can get home automation features installed in your home in Sydney which will increase the value of your property and its appeal to future renters or buyers. Of course, there are loads of other benefits and we’ll explain a few of them below.

Types of home automation products we can install in Sydney

  1. Luxury Home entertainment – More and more people in Sydney are using online streaming services to watch TV, movies and documentaries. It is the easy alternative to going to the cinema and a large screen TV has become common in lots of homes.

This has led to more people buying large home entertainment systems to recreate a cinematic experience at home. This normally includes an immersive sound system combined with a Smart TV that can be controlled from an App on your mobile phone.

Complimentary systems can be connected that include lighting, air conditioning and remote window blind operation so you can sit back and control everything before the next movie starts. We can mount speakers in the wall or ceiling or even run cabling around a room to provide lots of connectivity options.

  2. Customisable Lighting  – From motion-sensors, to app integration to voice control or customisable timers, there are now endless lighting control options available that are a great alternative to a wall mounted switch.

With the benefit of adding comfort, fun and energy-efficiency into your home, it comes as no surprise that customisable lighting is one of the best home automation trends that people are jumping on. The use of LED lighting is making the range of products and installations even more interesting with their low energy, low heat, flexible designs suiting all kinds of uses.

3 popular smart home lighting features include:

    – Setting different themes for different rooms and using voice control or your phone to turn them on. For example, “movie night” dims and warms the lighting in your home theatre. While “party” transforms your standard house lights into fun alternating colours.

    – Motion sensor bathroom and hallway lighting to make your nighttime toilet journey safer. As well as motion-sensor outdoor lighting to prevent running into bushes or tripping over steps when you come home late. This smart home lighting feature is also extremely effective at scaring intruders away from your property.

    – Integrating every light in your home onto a smart home app makes it easier to switch all the lights off at the end of the night. Imagine being cosy in bed and suddenly remembering you left the kitchen light on. Instead of getting out of bed and walking all the way back to the kitchen on cold flooring, just press a button on your app.

  1. High-Tech Security  – Your home is your sanctuary from the exciting, but busy, Sydney lifestyle. It keeps you safe, comfortable and relaxed, except if an intruder was to sneak onto your property. Smart security systems make it easier than ever before to have peace of mind that your home is protected.

Whether you are in bed, at work or on holiday, being able to see a live feed of your entire home or backyard is priceless. A few button presses on your smartphone lets you check each room or even watch recorded video from selected times.

Darren Dewerson - licensed electrician in Sydney

I started in the industry installing security alarms and CCTV camera systems 25 years ago in London. I worked on thousands of sites servicing alarm electrical systems for large building companies, schools & other locations.

When I arrived in Australia I wasn’t allowed to apply for a security licence as I was not a citizen at the time so I decided get my TAFE qualifications and retrain as an electrician which complimented my electrical assistant work in London. I have been working as an electrician in Sydney since 2005.

For just over 40 years I have been involved in all types of electrical installations, upgrades, emergency repairs and set ups.
